Get all your girlfriends together and have fun playing these bridal shower games!
Bridal Shower Bingo
This game is one of the most popular games for bridal showers and can be played like the normal Bingo game. The difference with the original is that instead of the usual numbers for the squares, this will be replaced by words or phrases that are related to weddings or words that are related to the couple. For instance, the place where they are going to get married, the date of their wedding, the place where they got engaged. Or, words such as wedding ring, bridal gown, cake, bouquet, and so on. The first one to mark off a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line wins.
The Purse Game
Start by creating a list of items that you normally see inside a purse like lipstick, hairbrush, compact, keys, wallet. Also, include items that can be a bit funny and embarrassing such as dog treats or condoms. The game will go with the host calling out the items on the list and the first guest who brings out the object from her purse wins a small prize. Another alternative rule to this game is by starting again with a list of items that can be found in a purse. This time, however, assign a point value to each item ranging from 1 to 5 depending on how unusual the item is. For example, car keys can be scaled 1, a face powder 3, eyelash curler 5. Allow 10 bonus points for the guest who can produce the most outrageous item from her purse such as condoms in different flavors or an old handkerchief that hasn’t been washed for a long time.
The Newlywed Game
This is where you can make the bride feel like she is in a hot seat. Before the bridal shower, interview the groom about questions related to them such as: “Where they first met?” “Who said I love you first?” “Where their first date was?” What is his annoying habit?” To make a grand effect, create a record footage of the groom’s interview and play back each answer after you give each question to her.
Two Truths and a Lie
Guests recall three funniest moments they had with the bride, but one story isn’t true. Have the other guests guess, which one is the lie. The person who correctly gets the lie wins a point. The best part of this game is when guests say wackier moments with the bride and the guests think that one is the lie.
Celebrity Name Game
If you have played the game Balderdash, this is just going to be the celebrity version. Make a list of celebrities on a sheet of paper and throw all the names you have made into a bowl. Then, create two teams. The first player from Team A draws a name from the bowl, and then explains who the celebrity is without actually saying who it is. If her teammates guess it right, the next player will go next. The time limit should only be for a minute and they should be able to guess most of the names on the bowl. The same procedure applies for Team B. To spice it up a bit, make each guess one point. Allow the other team to steal celebrity names when the team is not able to guess the celebrity correctly. The team with the most points win.
Memory Game
At the start of the shower, make the bride share her love story with the guests. This will include important events such as how they met, where he proposed, and even trials they had as a couple. After opening presents, the host will surprise everyone by asking questions to the guests about the story the bride told earlier. You could also throw in some funny questions like “How many times, she said the name of the groom in the story?” The guest who can answer most of the questions get a prize.
The Underwear Game
This is perfect for a lingerie shower. When inviting guests, ask them to bring lingerie that is close to their personality. Then, at the shower, hang a clothesline across the room where the guests will hang their lingerie gift. The soon-to-be bride will then guess who the gift is from. The fun part about this game is that the bride will be leaving with a handful of lingerie wardrobe, which she could also use at their honeymoon.
